The Department of Biological Sciences at Union College invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor (pending administrative approval) to begin in September 2021. A Ph.D. in the Biological Sciences or a related field is strongly preferred.  Post-doctoral experience is a plus. The successful candidate will be required to teach Human Anatomy & Physiology I (HA&P I) to students interested in healthcare-oriented programs of study. This class will consist of both a lecture and laboratory component. The successful candidate will also teach introductory biology and other courses as needed in consultation with the Chair. The ideal candidate must have prior experience in teaching Human Anatomy & Physiology and be competent to teach introductory Biology. Our goal is to hire an outstanding individual with a demonstrated commitment to teaching and research, and the College strongly supports faculty and student research.

The Department of Biological Sciences at Union College is committed to teaching and mentoring students in the classroom and in our active research laboratories. Housed in the newly constructed Integrated Science and Engineering Complex, the Department is well equipped with NSF-funded instrumentation such as a microCT, a 3-D multicamera motion analysis system, Illumina DNA sequencer, scanning electron microscope, and substantial tissue culture and animal care facilities.
