The Union College Aerogel Lab is seeking a post-baccalaureate research assistant to work on a Small Business Technology Transfer project to develop high-efficiency aerogel-based window products. The research assistant will be responsible for designing and testing molds, making aerogels and assembling prototypes. Responsibilities also include maintaining laboratory equipment, instruments and supplies, trouble-shooting and resolving problems, keeping proper laboratory records and helping with special projects. This is an eleven month, grant-funded, benefit-eligible position that begins mid-Sept 2020.

Qualifications: Bachelors degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, mechanical engineering, or closely related field, with hands-on undergraduate or postgraduate research experience, is required. Laboratory experience making and testing materials, and CAD design experience is preferred. Must be able to work with a diverse group of individuals.
