Senior Enterprise Systems Administrator 

Supervisor: Director, Enterprise Systems

Pay Status and Classification: Exempt, Regular full-time.

Position Purpose: Responsible for providing system management support for the College’s centralized enterprise systems and ensuring stable, continuous, and secure delivery of mission critical applications and services. Serves as the primary technical and functional support for the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and associated integrations with a variety of cloud-based and on-premises applications. Responsible for system provisioning and maintenance that is consistent with College’s goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. System Administration: Provides systems management and support for Union’s multi-user enterprise systems. Ensures database recoverability, integrity, availability, and accessibility. Maintains effective, secure and efficient operation of ERPapplications. Participate in data integration strategy, including planning, development and implementation.
  2. System Deployment and Upgrades: Plans, coordinates, and executes system deployments, upgrades, and migrations. Collaborates with the IT team to assess requirements, evaluate technical solutions, and implement system enhancements or new technologies. Conducts testing and quality assurance activities to ensure successful implementation and minimize disruptions. Monitors and tunes system, database, and application performance as necessary.
  3. Security and Compliance: Implements and maintains security measures, access controls, and system hardening to protect enterprise systems from unauthorized access, data breaches, and malware. Monitors and analyzes system logs and audit trails to identify and mitigate security risks. Ensures compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  4. Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Investigates and resolves complex system issues, including performance bottlenecks, errors, and malfunctions. Performs root cause analysis and develops solutions to prevent future incidents. Works closely with technical teams, vendors, and support personnel to escalate and resolve critical issues.
  5. Collaboration: Works and partners with all members of the ITS department to be responsive to the needs of users and to work on projects as needed. Maintains liaisons with user community, technical staff, and support organizations for resolution of ERP issues. Collaborates with the user community in testing new ERP processes and companion applications.

Qualifications: 

  1. Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Science or related field, and 4 years systems management experience in Windows and Linux server environments and/or a combination of relevant education, training, certifications, and/or work experience. 
  2. Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills as well.
  3. Exceptional time management and organization skill and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  4. Extensive knowledge of database management systems (i.e., MSSQL, Oracle, MySQL, Unidata, etc.)
  5. Proficiency in task automation scripting technologies (i.e., PowerShell, Unix Shell, etc.)
  6. Experience providing systems support for a college/university ERPplatform (such as Ellucian Colleague, SCT Banner or Workday) would be desirable.
  7. Familiarity with storage and virtualization technologies.
  8. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

The annual salary range for this position is $83,000.00 - $90,000.00. Except for roles with a set rate of pay, the wage/salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The stated hiring rate/range represents the College’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate/range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
