Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong communication, listening, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Strong computer skills (Proficiency in software programs Google Apps, Word, Excel.)
  • Ability to think critically, adjust accordingly and escalate when appropriate.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask and adapt to new technologies.
  • Initiative and ability to work independently under general supervision in a flexible work environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates degree.
  • 1-3 years administrative assistant and/or customer service experience.
  • Experience with customer relations management (CRM) system (e.g. Slate.)

Responsibilities:

Reception

  • Greet and welcome visitors to Union as they enter and exit the office.
  • Rotate reception coverage, including some weekend staffing.
  • Rotate backup phone coverage.

Clerical work

  • Answer emails from prospective students, parents and school counselors.
  • Data entry of inquiry cards.
  • Print and mail postcards and posters in support of high school visits.
  • Scan and link documents in Slate.
  • Recalculate high school GPAs.
  • Process applications and supporting documents.
  • Event support (open houses, yield programs, etc.)
  • Review and resolve duplicate records in Slate.
  • Other data entry as assigned.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of office data.

Dean support

  • Support deans with program responsibilities as assigned.
