Shift Start/End Time: Mon. - Fri. 8:45 a.m. - 11:00 p.m.,Sat. 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m., and Sun. 11:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m.          Hours Per Week: 30
Weeks Per Year: 44

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree preferred.
  • Two or more years of customer service experience required; retail experience preferred.
  • Strong math skills and familiarity with computers required; experience with registers & POS systems preferred.
  • Ability to safely stand, bend and lift & carry up to 50 lbs without assistance, continuously throughout the workday is required.
  • Must be safety conscious and adhere to safe working practices. Must instill these practices in department employees also.
  • Service oriented, professional and trustworthy demeanor required as well as ability to perform a high quality and quantity of work.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task, train, delegate and communicate (orally & in writing) is essential.
  • Must value and promote a welcoming and inclusive environment to a diverse group of employees and customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide a superior customer service experience for all customers, including but not limited to staff, students, faculty, alumni, and more.
  • Work a flexible schedule in which this position may serve as manager on duty at any time.
  • Participate in cash reconciliation which may include deposits, opening/closing, end of month procedures, etc.
  • Share in purchasing and campus/community relationship building duties with other C-Store supervisors.
    Participate in budgeting, labor control, negative on-hand reporting, and cycle counts.
  • Assist to recruit, hire, train, supervise and schedule student worker hours.
  • Ensure accurate and efficient cashiering amongst the department.
  • Ensure inventory is received and put out in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and easy to navigate store.
  • Perform cleaning duties such as vacuuming, dusting and trash/recyclables removal daily.
  • Effectively communicate with c-store buyer/supervisor on inventory issues, outages and student requests
  • Assist with outside vendor sales as needed.Participate in annual physical inventory of the bookstore
  • Help receive and stock merchandise/textbooks outside the C-Store when needed.
  • Assist with book buy backs at the end of each term.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.
