Working under the direction of the Plumbing Supervisor, the individual will perform journey-level duties and responsibilities, which include the installation, repairing, and maintenance of pipes, fixtures and associated equipment used to maintain the flow and drainage of water, air, and other gas systems in both commercial and residential applications.
- High school diploma, with either the completion of a two year technical trade school in the appropriate field, or the completion of a five year apprenticeship program along with a minimum of five years’ experience as a journeyman plumber in a commercial or educational environment
- Proficient knowledge in water distribution and waste disposal in both commercial and residential applications
- Understanding the relevant building codes, legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures pertaining to the installation and maintenance of equipment
- Able to read and interpret blue prints and schematics
- Knowledge and practice of the LOTO system
- Able to multi-task with different jobs, as priority supersedes is also a benefit
- Must have a valid New York State driver’s license
- Basic computer skills, along with effective decision, negotiating, team building and leader/mentoring skills with excellent verbal, written, presentation, and listening abilities while working within a diverse community
