The Assistant Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life is responsible for assisting in the advisement and support of fraternities and sororities. The Assistant will work in conjunction with the Director in order to develop and maintain a healthy and vibrant Greek community.
Responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing Fraternity and Sorority on-campus housing
- Serve as a conduct officer for those living in Greek Housing
- Maintain the Fraternity and Sorority Life website
- Co-Advise the Greek Governing Councils, the Interfraternity Council, Multicultural Greek Council, and the Panhellenic Council.
- Assist with Greek Life social events
- Advise Order of Omega honorary society
This position requires some nights and weekends, and a high level of visibility to the campus community and student body is important. This is a Live On position.
- Master’s degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs Administration or the equivalent
- 2 or more years of experience in higher education is required, which can include graduate assistantships
- Demonstrate understanding of the issues related to residential living and knowledge of student development theory
- Must be committed to diversity and social justice
- Knowledge of issues and challenges facing undergraduate students in general and members of fraternities and sororities in particular including hazing, housing concerns, student conduct, alcohol education, and sexual assault prevention
- Affiliation in a Fraternity or Sorority, preferred
