Provides administrative, secretarial, and receptionist support to the Geology department and Environmental Science Policy and Engineering (ESPE) program, including support to students in the three majors: Geology, Environmental Science, and Environmental Policy.  Assists with specific projects that support the Department and program and Geology/ESPE faculty and staff. Duties include but are not limited to: Assist with organizing field trip, conferences, and field work related travel and logistics. Handle expense reports for all Geology/ESPE faculty/student travel. Order chemicals and lab supplies and interface with EHS for bar coding and delivery. Prepare purchase orders and invoices. Supervise student pre-registration process for Geology/ESPE courses.  Acts as point of contact for all students with preregistration questions. Oversee student course evaluations, i.e. distribution, collection and typing of comments. Support faculty review committees (ad hoc, tenure and reappointment).  Duties include scheduling appointments and contacting students for interviews and collecting confidential materials. Support Department Chair with triennial reviews and lecturer renewals. Update and maintain Department and program webpages. 

Qualification: High School diploma or equivalent with 3 to 5 years experience required; Associate degree with at least 3 years experience preferred. Must have demonstrated mastery of Word, Excel, Google docs, Google sheets and willingness to learn other technical skills as needed. Familiarity with Web-based functions (e.g. searches, accessing info, etc.). Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities. Knowledge of science terminology helpful. Must be safety conscious and able to work with a diverse group of individuals.
