The Department of Sociology at Union College invites applications for a three-year visiting position beginning September 1, 2020, with a possibility of a subsequent renewal of up to two additional years. The candidate is expected to have an MSW and preferably a Ph.D. in social work or a closely related field and demonstrated effectiveness in undergraduate teaching. Teaching responsibilities will be principally in the area of social work and human services, such as aging, domestic violence and mental health. Teaching load is two courses per ten-week trimester, six courses per academic year. Ideally, the candidate would facilitate a biennial community-engagement mini-term built around a topic and location of the candidate's choosing, and could be related to the candidate’s research.
