Under supervision of the Plumbing Supervisor, the Plumber will perform journey-level duties and responsibilities, which include the installation, repairing, and maintenance of pipes, fixtures and associated equipment used to maintain the flow and drainage of water, air, and other gas systems in both commercial and residential applications.

Qualifications: This position requires a high school diploma plus either a two year technical trade school in an appropriate field or completion of a 5 year apprenticeship program, a minimum of 5 years experience as a journeyman plumber in a commercial/educational environment, a valid New York State driver’s license, and proficient knowledge in water distribution and waste water disposal in both commercial and residential applications.   The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of relevant building codes, policies and procedures pertaining to the installation and maintenance of equipment,  the ability to read and interpret blue prints and schematics, basic computer skills, and knowledge of LOTO procedures. The successful candidate will also be safety conscious, able to work with a diverse group of individuals, and possess effective decisional, negotiating, team building, and leadership/mentoring skills, and  effective verbal, written, presentation, and listening abilities. May be required to work holidays, weekends and overtime, as the college needs require.
