Working under the direction of the Plumbing/Heating Supervisor, the employee will watch and read instrumentation and record data involved in the operation of a high pressure steam water-tube boiler, associated equipment, and systems. Duties include reading instrumentation and gauges, collecting data, and recording information in daily logs, reporting alarms and alerting qualified staff should alarm conditions arise, working responsibly and independently without supervision, cleaning and sweeping designated areas, and monitoring the boiler house by conducting an hourly walk through.
 
Qualifications: The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Candidates must also have the ability to read and interpret instrumentation pertaining to equipment and systems, excellent communication and team building skills, a valid NYS driver’s license and a relatively clean driving record. Knowledge of high pressure boilers and a mechanical background is a plus. Must be safety conscious and able to work with a diverse group of individuals.
