Union College is seeking an energetic admissions professional to be a part of our dynamic team. We strive to recruit and select a diverse and talented class that will thrive at Union. To support that goal, the Assistant Dean of Admissions will manage both domestic and international territories to recruit students for the College, build relationships with high school counselors, independent educational consultants and alumni and achieve a high level of visibility for the College. This position is supported by an admission team dedicated to mentorship and professional development.


  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Familiarity with small liberal arts college environment.
  • Admissions experience preferred but not essential.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
  • Valid driver’s license and passport.
  • Must be able to work with a diverse group of individuals.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends. 
  • Ability to travel, including travel internationally. 


  • Recruit, attract, and enroll students.
  • Plan and implement recruitment strategies for geographic region and on-campus programs for a diverse group of prospective students/families.
  • Arrange contacts with prospective students, families, schedules and conducts high school visits with students and guidance counselors.
  • Interview prospective student on and off-campus.
  • Evaluate applications and admissions decisions.
  • Present to prospective families and educators about Union College and the college admissions.
  • In-office program responsibilities including training, oversight of student volunteers, working with international applicants, supporting on-campus programs and adding to the College’s social media presence.
  • Extensive domestic and international travel required.
