The Department of Biological Sciences at Union College invites applications for a two-year Visiting Assistant Professor to begin in September 2020. A Ph.D. in the Biological Sciences or a related field is required and postdoctoral research experience is preferred.  The successful candidate will be required to teach Anatomy & Physiology I/II classes to students interested in healthcare-oriented programs of study. Both classes will consist of both a lecture and laboratory component. The successful candidate will also teach introductory biology and other courses as needed in consultation with the Chair.  The ideal candidate must have prior experience in teaching Anatomy & Physiology I/II and be competent to teach introductory Biology.  The successful candidate should also have a broad research program in the biological sciences. Our goal is to hire an outstanding individual with a demonstrated commitment to teaching and research.

The Department of Biological Sciences at Union College is committed to teaching and mentoring students in the classroom and in our active research laboratories. Housed in the newly constructed Integrated Science and Engineering Complex, the Department is well equipped with NSF-funded instrumentation such as a microCT, a 3-D multicamera motion analysis system, Illumina DNA sequencer, scanning electron microscope, and substantial tissue culture and animal care facilities.

Union College is a small, highly selective liberal arts college with strengths in science and engineering in New York State's Capital Region, in the foothills of the Adirondacks, three hours from NYC and Boston.
