The successful candidate will manage and develop Union College's Planned Giving efforts. Responsibilities will include obtaining financial support through planned gifts such as charitable lead and remainder trusts, pooled funds, charitable gift annuities, life insurance, real property and bequest provisions, meeting and consulting with a diverse group of prospective donors and their advisors, developing marketing strategies to increase awareness of planned gifts, and efficiently administrating/providing stewardship for planned gifts received by Union.

Qualifications: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree and at least seven years of development experience with a focus in gift planning and technical knowledge of charitable gift plans including the ability to review documents for compliance with federal and state law. Ability to effectively communicate the advantages of planned gifts to prospective donors and colleagues, via both written proposals and oral conversations. Position requires a detail-oriented individual with integrity and trustworthiness in dealing with the confidential nature of conversations with prospective donors, genuine empathy with donors, and creativity in developing marketing materials, newsletters, magazine ads, etc. Must be willing to travel to meet with prospects and donors. Weekends and evening flexibility is also necessary.
