Union College is seeking a full time campus shuttle driver, Tuesday through Saturday, 5pm-1am.  CDL license and experience preferred but not required.  Candidates may start with a regular class “D” license and will be required to obtain a CDL Class “B” license within four months.  Training and test preparation for the CDL license will be provided by Union College.


  • Drive 12-passenger van and/or mini bus on regular campus route and schedule
  • Conducting a pre-trip inspection of the equipment to be used during the designated route
  • Maintaining the scheduled times and locations as posted for the Shuttle Service
  • Reporting all concerns of vehicle safety, including concerns of safety for the community being served (i.e. road hazards, sick or intoxicated students) 
  • Reporting any incidents whether they appear minor or major

         * Upon receipt of CDL, Class "B" License, driver may be assigned to larger buses and/or additional responsibilities.

  • Drivers must possess a minimum of a valid New York State Class "D" drivers license (regular driver's license).  Within 4 months, drivers will be required to obtain a CDL, Class B license with P endorsement (Training and test preparation will be provided).
  • 1-2 years of transportation driving experience preferred but not required
  • Strong communications skills for working with a diverse group of college faculty, staff and students.
  • Drivers are subject to commercial driver’s license (CDL) standards.
  • All drivers are subject to random drug and alcohol testing as mandated by citations “49 CFR 382” & “49 CFR 40”.
