The Assistant Director for Benefits and Employee Engagement will perform generalist functions in the areas of benefit administration, new employee orientation, web page administration, and general employment.  Duties include: assisting prospective, new, and existing employees with employment and benefit related questions and paperwork; communicating benefit information to vendors, verifying eligibility for benefits selected; administering the tuition remission program; handling retiree insurance needs such as record keeping and communication efforts; handling COBRA notifications and enrollments; and assisting hiring departments with new employee expectations.  This position involves a significant amount of detail-oriented work and data entry so attention to detail is critical.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus at least one year of HR generalist experience required.  Candidates should also possess well-established abilities in benefits administration, demonstrated detail orientation, positive interpersonal and customer service skills, excellent verbal and written communication abilities, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and basic familiarity with Google Apps, HRIS systems, and web page administration. HR certification and ability to provide exemplary service to a highly diverse community is a plus.
