General Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain a positive, professional relationship with customers through effective, accurate, timely, and reliable communication and action.
  • Assist customers with booking their event through CaterTrax
  • Assist with change sheets.
  • Check all event orders prior to customers’ arrival, guaranteeing all details are in agreement with customers’ requirements and UCH standards. Meet with the appropriate staff prior to the function to ensure any deficiencies are corrected by respective personnel.
  • Answer incoming calls with proper greeting and telephone etiquette. Respond in a timely manner to phone calls and messages.
  • Communicate with a diverse group of customers, employees and other individuals to answer questions, disseminate or explain information, and address complaints.
  • Maintain and update filing, inventory, mailing, and database systems, either manually or using a computer.
  • Review files, records, and other documents to obtain information to respond to requests.
  • Utilize Cbord for card management.
  • Delivers requested food and beverage to the delivery location, setting up all food and beverage in a professional appearance and logical manner, ensuring all condiments and service ware are available as needed. 
  • Ensures all services are cleaned up at the end of the meeting or requested pick-up time.     
  • Complies with all HACCP policies and procedures.  

General Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required/two year degree in Culinary Arts or Dining Service Administration preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years catering experience is required/Supervisory experience preferred. 
  • Previous clerical experience is preferred.
  • Must be able to multi-task, organize time and create a daily schedule.
  • A basic understanding of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook is required.  
  • A strong dedication to exceptional customer service and attention to details.
  • Strong communication skills
  • General financial & mathematical understanding for reporting and cash controls.

 Physical Requirements:

  • Significant walking or other means of mobility.
  • Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds.
